摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device that employs a coil cancellation system that cancels a magnetic flux to suppress temperature rise of a non-feeding area heated by an induction heating system, reduces temperature ripple that occurs during the turn-on period and the turn-off period of a heat source, and provides excellent images with saved energy.SOLUTION: A fixing device includes: a fixing member; a heating coil that heats the fixing member by electromagnetic induction; a cancel coil that erases a magnetic flux generated by the heating coil; and means for switching on/off of the cancel coil. The electrical power saved during the period when the heating coil is switched off is added to compensate the power when the heating coil is next turned on, for every control period to operate the cancel coil.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transit to a sleep state to save energy when the occurrence of kink can be suppressed and entering into a sleep state immediately after completion of an image forming operation is possible.SOLUTION: A fixing device can transit to a sleep state, and is configured to comprise: a heat source; a rotatable fixing member that is partially heated by the heat source, and heats one side of a recording medium carrying an unfixed image; a rotatable pressure member that comes into pressure contact with the fixing member, and forms a nip part with the fixing member; rotation drive means for rotating the fixing member or the pressure member; temperature detection means for detecting temperature of the fixing member; and a control unit that controls at least the rotation drive means. During a predetermined time period tafter the rotation of the fixing device is stopped, if a temperature range of the fixing member facing the heat source is equal to or higher than a predetermined temperature T, the fixing device rejects transition to a sleep state.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device which requires a short warm-up time and has high energy saving property, while being capable of shortening first print time from the time for standing by for heating and of safely controlling the temperature of a fixing belt.SOLUTION: A fixing device 200 comprises: a fixing member 201 which includes a heat source 202 and is rotatable; a pressure member 203 which can be rotated by a drive source and forms a nip by pressing the fixing member; abnormal temperature detection means 210 which is arranged in an opposite position to the fixing member and detects an abnormal temperature rise of the fixing member; and position changing means 211, 214 which change the position of the abnormal temperature detection means relative to the fixing member. It performs fixing processing on a recording medium passing through the nip by directly heating the fixing member by the heat source without interposition of a heat conductor. A gap between the abnormal temperature detection means and the fixing member when the fixing member is not rotating is set by the position changing means to be smaller than that of when the fixing member is rotating.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of kink of a fixing member even when excessive temperature rise occurs in the fixing member because of sudden abnormal stop of the fixing member caused by paper jam or turn-off of an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A fixing device is configured to comprise: a heat source; a rotatable fixing member that is partially heated by the heat source, and heats one side of a recording medium carrying an unfixed image; a rotatable pressure member that comes into pressure contact with the fixing member, and forms a nip part with the fixing member; and rotation drive means for rotating the fixing member or the pressure member. When the fixing member is stopped by reason other than completion of fixing processing while the fixing device is turned on, the fixing device rotates the fixing member at least by a predetermined amount after the fixing member is stopped.
