    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass composition for glass fiber having high consistency of an optical constant with a plurality of transparent resins, a high affinity for the resins, excellent adhesiveness, good meltability and spinnability of glass, and high chemical durability, a glass fiber comprising the glass composition, a method for manufacturing the glass fiber, and a visible light-transmissive composite material using the glass fiber. SOLUTION: The glass composition for glass fiber includes the following components, indicated by mass% (expressed in terms of oxides): 40-70% SiO 2 ; 0-5% Al 2 O 3 ; 8.5-18% Li 2 O+Na 2 O+K 2 O; 0-12% ZnO; 5-15% TiO 2 ; and 0-10% ZrO 2 . The glass fiber comprises the glass composition for glass fiber. The method for manufacturing the glass fiber includes a melting step of melting the glass composition for glass fiber in a heat resistant vessel, and a spinning step of continuously drawing the molten glass from a heat resistant nozzle to form a glass fiber.
