    • A beamforming apparatus obtains the beamforming parameters that realize arbitrary desirable PSF by using optimization theories. The apparatus uses at least one of the beamforming parameters such as the intensities, frequencies, bandwidths and shapes of the signals transmitted by the transmitting unit, the filtering of noises, amplifications (gains) and shapes of the signals received by the receiving unit, delays of the directions of propagation and array used by the delay units, apodization functions of the directions of propagation and array used by the apodization units, the number of the additions of the signals by the addition unit, array element parameters such as element size or shape and how to implement the elements in transducers (e.g., connections by leads between the elements and with the surroundings), which are determined by the specified optimization process to realize the desirable PSF.

    • An imaging device that is connectable to an external display device includes a decoder that, based on an instruction to reproduce coded moving image data recorded in any one of an internal recorder, a memory card and an external recording device, decodes data and sequentially obtains a plurality of frames in a predetermined order. The imaging device also includes a blur estimator that sequentially obtains a total motion vector of each frame corresponding to an obtaining speed and a predetermined order of frames, a blur correction processor that sequentially corrects the blur of the frames based on respective total motion vectors, and a second display processor that sequentially outputs the blur corrected frames to the external display. Blur correction processing for moving images output to the external display is performed suitably.

    • In an imaging apparatus, an imaging element picks up an object image focused thereon through an image pickup lens. An angle-rate sensor detects a shake amount of the imaging apparatus. An optical shake-compensation unit is prepared to move the image pickup lens based on the shake amount detected by the angle-rate sensor to compensate for a shake of the object image. A base plate shake-compensation unit is prepared to move the imaging element based on the shake amount detected by the angle-rate sensor to compensate for a shake of the object image and a control unit selectively controls operation of the optical shake-compensation unit and operation of the base plate shake-compensation unit, thereby compensating for a shake of the object image focused on the imaging element.

    • A DC-DC converter includes: an inductance element and a rectifier element connected in series between a voltage input terminal to accept input direct current voltage and a first output terminal; a switching element connected between a connection node of the inductance element and the rectifier element and a reference potential point; and a controlling circuit to form a signal to control on/off of the switching element. The controlling circuit controls on/off of the switching element to control current through the inductance element, and a voltage applied to the voltage input terminal to accept the input direct current voltage is output via a second output terminal as a reference potential of a circuit at a latter stage, so that an output voltage is controllable from a lower to higher voltage than the input direct current voltage without switching step-up and step-down operations.
