    • The inventive concept discloses a capacitive touch system and a coordinate extraction method thereof. The coordinate extraction method has operations of phases 1 and 2.First and second axis coordinates of a first frame are obtained by providing driving signals in a first direction selected in the first phase and performing a sensing in a second direction different from the first direction. First and second axis coordinates of a second frame are obtained by providing driving signals in a second direction selected in the second phase and performing a sensing in the first direction. First and second axis coordinates having a relatively high coordinate precision among the first and second axis coordinates may be finally determined as a touch coordinate. According to the inventive concept, since a touch sensing precision is improved to be strong against a noise, a touch coordinate is more precisely obtained.

    • Provided is a liquid crystal display device that can improve the image quality of a moving image. The liquid crystal display device includes a driver, a backlight unit, a first lamp driver, a second lamp driver, and a lamp driving controller. The liquid crystal panel divided is into at least three regions, and has a plurality of lamps arranged to correspond to each of the divided regions. Lamps of the lamps arranged in upper and lower regions of the liquid crystal panel are connected to each other. The first lamp driver controls on/off times of the lamps in the upper and lower regions of the liquid crystal panel. The second lamp driver controls on/off times of the lamps in the region excluding the upper and lower regions of the liquid crystal panel. The lamp driving controller controls the first and second lamp drivers using signals supplied from the driver.

The LCD device includes: an input unit, a backlight unit, a histogram analyzing unit, a data correcting unit, a liquid crystal panel driving unit, a duty ratio determining unit, and a lamp driving unit. The input unit inputs data corresponding to an image displayed on a liquid crystal panel, and the backlight unit includes a plurality of lamps. The histogram analyzing unit analyzes a histogram of data input from the input unit to generate a select signal according to a brightness state of the data. The data correcting unit corrects pixel data to be supplied to the liquid crystal panel using at least one of a plurality of gamma compensating characteristic curves. The liquid crystal panel driving unit drives the liquid crystal panel. The duty ratio determining unit generates a plurality of lamp-on signals. The lamp driving unit generates a lamp driving voltage corresponding to the lamp-on signal.

    • A driving method and apparatus for a liquid crystal display is disclosed in which the contrast ratio of data to be displayed is expanded and brightness of a back light is selectively changed in correspondence with the data. Whether the data is that of an initial color field is determined. The data is converted into brightness components and arranged into a histogram for each frame. Data having an expanded contrast is generated by the histogram. A control value is extracted from the histogram. The brightness of the back light is generated in correspondence with the control value if an initial color field is not displayed. However, if an initial color field is displayed, a predetermined brightness is supplied irrespective of the extracted control value.
