    • An interpolation circuit, in which a digital signal produced by sampling and quantizing an analog information sequentially is encoded so that, in case a certain one of the encoded sample data is erroneous, a correct data in place of the erroneous sample data is prepared as an interpolation data by interpolating other correct sample data. The interpolation circuit includes: a first extrapolation circuit for generating a first extrapolation data by extrapolating two sample data preceding the erroneous sample data to the position of said erroneous sample data, a second extrapolation circuit for generating a second extrapolation data by extrapolating the two sample data succeeding the erroneous sample data to the position of the erroneous sample data, and an averaging circuit for generating the interpolation data by arithmetically averaging the first and second extrapolation data.

    • A magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus comprises a source for producing test signals, a variable-gain amplifier, an equalizer, a recording bias generating circuit, a control unit for supplying control signals to the amplifier, equalizer and recording bias generating circuit, a memory and an operating circuit unit. The apparatus is automatically adjusted to each individual magnetic tape in use in such a manner that: a first test signal from the source is recorded on a magnetic tape with a preset bias control signal, the recorded first test signal is reproduced, the bias control signal is adjusted to provide a maximum HF saturation level and a minimum distortion to thereby determine an optimum bias control signal, and the proper bias control signal is fixed for said bias generating circuit; another test signal from the source is recorded on the magnetic tape with a preset gain control signal, the recorded other test signal is reproduced and is compared with a reference value at the operating circuit unit to provide an error signal, and the resulting error signal is fed through the memory to the control unit to renew the preset gain control signal for said amplifier. The adjustment of the frequency response control signal for the equalizer is effected in the same manner as the adjustment of the gain control signal.

    • For providing a recording disc, on which information can be renewed by signals, such as electromagnetic waves, and further with which unnecessary vibration due to an eccentricity in center of gravity of the disc can be reduced when the disc is rotated at high rotation velocity, wherein there are positioned an antenna portion, which enables to receive information and/or electric power on the disc, and a memory chip(s) for transmitting the information received to the disc and for renewing that information.
