    • A method (100) for tuning a voltage controlled oscillator by changing electrical circuit parasitics includes a first step (102) of providing a voltage controlled oscillator circuit on a circuit board and a plurality of different metal lids each having different numbers, sizes and locations of holes. Each different lid presents a different electrical circuit parasitic to the voltage controlled oscillator. In a second step (104), the voltage controlled oscillator frequency is measured, and the frequency shift needed to achieve a desired operating frequency is calculated in a third step (106). In a fourth step (108), a lid is chosen that will present the parasitics needed to provide the amount of frequency shift needed. As a last step (110), the chosen lid is attaching to the circuit board to obtain the desired nominal operating frequency from the voltage controlled oscillator.

    • A pressure sensor that provides for multiple diaphragm sensing regions in a side by side configuration which can be formed into a stacked monolithic batch fabricated form. The multiple pressure sensor can be constructed to sense differential or absolute pressure as desired. In preferred forms of the invention, the pressure inlets are all on the same side of the monolithic structure to easily isolate the corrosive pressure media from the sensing means, which as shown comprise strain gage sensors on the sensing diaphragms as well as from the conductors carrying signals from the sensing means. The variable strain gage resistors on the sensor diaphragms are segregated from the media in several differet ways using isolating layers. The stacked sensor configuration insures that the device can be batched fabricated so that a number of sensors can be formed on chips that are stacked and bonded together, and then separated into individual sensors.

    • An RF module adapted for direct surface mounting to the top surface of the front end of the motherboard of a wireless base station such as, for example, a femtocell. The module comprises a printed circuit board having a plurality of direct surface mounted electrical components defining respective signal transmit and receive sections for RF signals. The signal transmit section is defined by at least a power amplifier, a coupler, and a lowpass filter. The signal receive section is defined by at least a receive bandpass filter and a low-noise amplifier. A lid covers selected ones of the electrical components except for at least the power amplifier. An RF switch is located between and interconnects the respective transmit and receive sections to an antenna pin.

    • A ball grid array ceramic filter including a substrate having a ground layer of conductive material disposed over one of the surfaces thereof and a plurality of strips of conductive material on the other of the substrate surfaces defining resonators adapted to receive and pass RF signals. A plurality of vias extend through the substrate and define opposed ends terminating in the respective substrate surfaces. In one embodiment, a plurality of conductive spheres defining respective ground and RF signal input/output pads are disposed on the substrate surface with the ground layer thereon.
