    • This invention concerns a device for an outdoor switching apparatus of an electrical power line, the switching apparatus being enclosed within a case. The device includes a wall made of electrically conductive material capable of blocking sun rays. The device also includes a fastening assembly for fastening the wall with respect to the case in a position for blocking, at least partially, sun rays from hitting the case during day time. The fastening assembly has at least one spacer made of insulating material for spacing the wall with respect to the case, thus delimiting an air gap between the wall and the case. The device also includes at least one electrical connector for electrically connecting the wall to circuitry of the switching apparatus, located inside the case, for powering and voltage monitoring.

    • A finger-pressure actuated matrix switch assembly includes a map overlay and generates a binary coded signal corresponding to the coordinates of the point of application of pressure to the map. The assembly comprises a housing with a slot for positioning a replaceable map card in operative position and a storage chamber for a plurality of such map cards. Each of the map cards is edgenotched with a unique code identifying that card, and switches supported on the housing are actuated by these notches when a map card is inserted into its operative position to generate a binary electrical signal corresponding to that code. The matrix or grid is formed by orthogonally related sets of printed conductors on stacked boards spaced apart by resilient strip separators formed directly on one of the boards. Logic circuitry for converting the coordinates of contacting conductors into binary digits is carried on a single pluggable board detachably connected to the matrix boards for quick replacement to facilitate maintenance and repair.

    • A touch screen comprising: a) a substrate; b) a first conductive layer located on the substrate; c) a flexible sheet comprising a substantially planar surface and integral compressible spacer dots formed thereon, each integral compressible spacer dot having a base closest to the substantially planar surface and a peak furthest from the substantially planar surface; and d) a second conductive layer located on the substantially planar surface of the flexible sheet, the peaks of the integral compressible spacer dots extending beyond the second conductive layer located on the substantially planar surface; wherein the first and second conductive layers are positioned towards each other and separated by the integral compressible spacer dots. Undercuts are formed around each integral compressible spacer dot, and the second conductive layer is electrically isolated from any conductive layer material deposited on the peaks of the spacer dots while depositing the conductive layer material on the substantially planar surface.
