摘要： A crystal driver integrated circuit configurable for daisy chaining including an amplifier core, an input pin and an output pin, and a controller that operates the amplifier core in any one of multiple operating modes. The operating modes include an oscillator mode for driving an external crystal coupled between the input and output pins to generate an oscillation signal at a target frequency, and an amplifier mode that amplifies an external oscillating signal provided to the input pin to provide an amplified oscillation signal on the output pin. The amplifier core includes a controllable current source that provides a core bias current to an amplifier having a level that is adjusted depending upon the operating mode and desired amplitude. The operating modes may include a bypass mode in which the amplifier core is disabled. The amplifier may be implemented as either an PMOS amplifier or an NMOS amplifier.

摘要： An oscillator and method for generating a signal are provided. The oscillator comprises an electro-mechanical resonator and a reconfigurable oscillator driver. The reconfigurable oscillator driver starts the oscillator in single-ended mode to avoid latching and transitions the oscillator to differential mode in such a manner as to sustain oscillations therein. The reconfigurable oscillator driver may comprise two back-to-back banks of inverters and an adjustable feedback resistor. In single-ended mode, one bank is disabled and the other bank is enabled. To transition to differential mode and improve the quality of the signal, the number of enabled inverters is equalized in both banks.

摘要： An injection-locked frequency dividing apparatus including a frequency multiplier, a first linear mixer, a second linear mixer, and an oscillator is disclosed. The frequency multiplier receives a frequency signal and generates a multiple-frequency signal accordingly. The first and the second linear mixer both receive the multiple-frequency signal and respectively receive a first input signal and a second input signal, wherein the phases of the first and the second input signal are complementary. The first and the second linear mixer respectively mix the multiple-frequency signal with the first and the second input signal to respectively generate a first mixed signal and a second mixed signal. The oscillator generates the frequency signal. The oscillator further receives the first and the second mixed signal and generates a first output signal and a second output signal accordingly, wherein the phases of the first and the second output signal are complementary.
