摘要： Embodiments of the disclosure provide a method for keeping a session table alive in a Network Address Translation, NAT, apparatus, including: creating a hello session table by an Access Border Gateway Function, A_BGF, apparatus; creating a hello message by the A_BGF apparatus according to the hello session table; sending the hello message by the A_BGF apparatus to the NAT apparatus; receiving the hello message by the NAT apparatus; and updating a session table corresponding to the hello message by the NAT apparatus. Embodiments of the disclosure also provide a system and apparatus for keeping a session table alive in an NAT apparatus. Application of the embodiments of the disclosure keeps the session table alive in the NAT apparatus of an IP Multimedia Subsystem, IMS, ensures an unblocked registration path, and prevents the user conversation being interrupted due to an aged session table of the NAT apparatus.

摘要： This invention provides a method for providing network security services, such as those provided by the IPSEC protocol, through network address translation (NAT). The method is based on determining the transformations that occur on a packet and compensating for the transformations. Because only TCP and UDP protocols work through NATs, the IPSEC AH/ESP packets are encapsulated into UDP packets for transport. Special operations are performed to allow reliable communications in such environments.

More particularly, but not exclusively, the present invention enables, in a carrier hosted solution, a) operational information relating to a device or equipment in a customer network and for use in a network management system of a carrier network and b) control information to be provided to the device or equipment by the network management system to traverse the network address translator or firewall separating the carrier and customer networks. The traversal of the network address translator or firewall is achieved by inserting the operational or control information in keep alive signalling used maintain the NAT bind or firewall pinhole.

The RNC generates a radio resource control (RRC) message with a MAC-hs reset indication. The MAC reset indication requires the UE to flush buffers for configured HARQ processes, disassemble MAC protocol data units (PDUs) in the reordering buffers, deliver MAC-d PDUs to a MAC-d layer, and configure the MAC-hs to receive new data.

摘要： A method and apparatus for allowing telephony or other types of media communications and services to be provided for a device (24) having a private network address that resides behind a firewall and network address and port translation (NAPT) module (which is unaware of the underlying protocol for the communications and services). Examples of the underlying protocol includes the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and Real-Time Protocol (RTP). A path through the firewall and NAPT module is defined by use of keep-alive messages communicated through the firewall and NAPT module. Addresses that are allocated by the firewall and NAPT module are associated with the device (24) for both signaling and media communications. A feature of the firewall that enables the provision of telephony and media communications through the firewall that is protocol-unaware is that the firewall allows responses to messages initiated by the device back through the firewall.
