    • A brake system of the present invention is a dual braking system, which includes an ECU that controls parts for braking when a brake pedal is operated, a main brake that is controlled by ECU by locking a wheel disc for braking in normal braking, and a sub-brake that is mounted on the wheel disc and achieves sub-braking function to achieve emergency braking for safety by locking the wheel disc by control of ECU that has detects failure of main brake. Therefore, it is possible to improve safety by achieving emergency braking while achieving F-S (Fail-Safe), when the motor of main brake fails. Further, it is possible to also achieve stable FR (Failure Rate) in an EWB or an EMB that is practically applied to a vehicle, as in a hydraulic brake system, and to expedite common use of brake systems where a BBW (Brake By Wire) technology, such as EMB and EWB, is applied.

    • A parking brake actuator system is provided for an agricultural or industrial utility vehicle. The system includes an actuating member and an actuator. The actuating member can be forced into an engaged position by means of a preload. An actuator moves the actuating member against the preload force. The actuating member includes a parking brake arm which pivots about an axis and engages, when it is in an engaged position, a rotatable component. To permit actuation with relatively low force and to reduce the tolerances required, the actuating member includes a toggle device. The toggle device and the parking brake arm cooperate so that the parking brake arm and the toggle device move in response to actuation of the actuator.

    • The electrically operated disc brake (10, 110, 310, 410) may be operated by either hydraulic pressure and an electric motor or operated solely by means of an electric motor. The electric motor (40, 340, 440) drives a sun gear (52, 352, 452) of a planetary gear assembly (50, 150, 350, 450). The planetary gear assembly (50, 150, 350, 450) includes a fixed ring gear (70, 370, 470) and a rotatable ring gear (80, 180, 380, 480), the rotatable ring gear (80, 180, 380, 480) having fewer teeth than the fixed ring gear (70, 370, 470) so that rotation of the planetary gears (54, 56, 58) effects a slower rate of rotation of the rotatable ring gear (80, 180, 380, 480). The rotatable ring gear (80, 180, 380, 480) engages a screw (88, 188, 388, 488) which is connected with the piston (30, 130, 330, 430). The piston (30, 330, 430) may be displaced by hydraulic fluid for a service application and the electric motor (40, 340, 440) utilized for a parking application. Alternatively, the piston (130) may be displaced by the electric motor (40) for both service and parking brake applications.
