摘要： An apparatus for extruding foodstuffs is comprised of a one-piece housing having an inlet configured to be attached to a food processing machine, a distributor portion integrally formed with the inlet, the distributor portion having at least two side walls outwardly angled from the inlet, a die retaining portion configured for housing a die therein and integrally formed with the side walls, and an outlet through which an extruded food product can exit. A die defining at least one passage for forming a food product having a shape defined by the passage is inserted into the housing. A pair of removable retaining members extends through the housing and abuts against the die to retain the die within the housing.

摘要： A layer sequence repeater module for a co-extrusion die includes a cell formed of a plurality of thin annular disks stacked on top of each other in an axial direction of the co-extrusion die. Each disk includes a plurality of openings aligned with openings in the adjacent disks, thus forming multiple inner and outer melt passages. At least one of the layer sequence repeater module includes at least one first cap disk, at least one second cap disk, at least one distribution disk, at least one repeater disk and at least one spreader disk. The layer sequence repeater module may be a separately assembled and individually removable module of the co-extrusion die. Alternatively or additionally, the layer sequence repeater module may be incorporated into a module of the co-extrusion die.

摘要： High-capacity extrusion die assemblies (20, 90, 130, 140, 180, 252) each having a tubular sections (44, 146, 162, 268) and an elongated, axially rotatable, helically flighted screw section (56, 56a, 152, 168, 276, 278) which cooperatively define frustoconical, outwardly diverging material flow paths (75, 160, 291) at constant or differing divergence angles of from about 1-11°. The use of diverging tubular sections (44, 146, 162, 268) and screw sections (56, 56a, 152, 168, 276, 278) permits the use of larger die plates (76, 118, 292) with an increased number of die openings (80, 124, 296). This allows significant increases in extrusion production rates. The die assemblies (20, 90, 130, 140, 180, 252) can be used in the production of a wide number of human foods or animal feeds, and particularly aquatic feeds of the floating or sinking variety. In another aspect of the invention, an extruder (210) is provided having diverging and converging sections (212, 214) along the length thereof and defining corresponding flow paths (230, 246).

摘要： A crosshead die for a plastic optical fiber fabrication system is provided. The crosshead die includes a body, an insert, mounting flanges on the upstream and downstream end for securing the crosshead die to adjacent equipment or another crosshead dies, an axial port for receiving a mixed molten material that makes up the core, and a radial port for receiving a mixed molten material that makes up the outer layering material to be co-extruded over the core. The die insert includes a material distribution channel system that provides substantially the same linear distance for the mixed molten material to travel prior to the co-extrusion. If multiple die inserts are utilized, the crosshead die is able to co-extrude multiple layers over the core. If the crosshead dies are serially assembled, additional concentric layers of material can be co-extruded atop the layered plastic optical fiber extruded from the upstream crosshead die.

摘要： New cross-laminates are formed of films of which at least two are uniaxially or unbalanced biaxially oriented, in which the main direction of orientation in one of these films crosses the main direction of orientation in the other one, having modifications, made in a suitable pattern, of the surface properties of the two films on the surfaces which are inside the laminate and are bonded to each other. The internally arranged surface layers of the films comprise an array of strands (101, 102) of coextruded material and the films are arranged so that the arrays of the two films cross one another. The strands may be used to control adhesion between the films and reduce the tendency to delaminate on repeated flexing, making a laminate suitable for use as a tarpaulin. Alternatively, especially in combination with provision of embossment of at least one of the films whose main layer is transparent to form striations (103), coloured strands may confer interesting visual effects on the laminate viewed from the side of that film which may make the laminate appear thicker than it actually is.

Generally, a standard extruder cone length from spider to cone outlet is about 483 mm to about 560 mm.
