    • A modular low voltage multipole circuit breaker, including a plurality of identical single-pole breaking units each including a parallelipipedic insulating box having two opposite parallel large side faces and two opposite parallel small side faces, two terminals located at respective opposite parallel small side faces, a stationary contact electrically connected to one of the terminals, a movable contact cooperable between a first position contacting the stationary contact and a second position separated from the stationary contact and a molded case for housing the single-pole breaking units. The molded case has two opposite parallel side walls having the same thickness, the single-pole breaking units being sequentially arranged and parallel to each other and parallel to the side walls such that adjacent single-pole breaking units are spaced apart a distance equal to twice the thickness of the side walls, the single-pole breaking units being spaced apart at a constant pitch. An operating mechanism is provided to be common to all single-pole breaking units for simultaneously operating all single-pole breaking units.

The circuit breaker includes also an operation time adjusting mechanism engaging with the moving core and capable of adjusting the operation time of the moving core, and a casing storing therein the constituent elements. The operation time adjusting mechanism is brought into abutment against an adjustment portion formed on the moving core, and is detachably mounted on the casing.

With the manual control member a third torque antagonistic to and greater than the first one is exerted on the pivoting lever.

    • In a high voltage circuit interrupter switch or recloser a single multi-function control actuator is connected to a trip bar for tripping contact operating linkage to effect opening of one or more movable contacts. The control actuator includes a spring biased crank member and a toggle linkage operably associated to permit resetting of the control actuator to its initial position upon effecting movement of the contact operating linkage. The recloser has a switch for energizing a closing solenoid to reclose the interrupter contact. A movable catch is associated with switch operating linkage and is operably connected to the control actuator whereby the control actuator may effect energization of the solenoid to close the interrupter contacts. The control actuator is also connected to a lockout linkage for effecting lockout of the contact operating linkage upon receipt of a control signal when a predetermined number of circuit interruptions have been performed in a predetermined time period.

    • An improved remotely controllable circuit breaker comprises a manually operable switching mechanism for opening and closing a single set of first and second contacts, a trip mechanism for opening the contacts upon occurrence of predetermined overload current conditions, and a remotely controllable switching mechanism for selectively opening and closing the contacts in response to a control signal remote from the breaker. The manually operable switching mechanism includes a movable contact arm carrying the first contact to be brought into and out of contacting engagement with the second contact by manipulation of a manual handle. The second contact is operatively connected to the remotely controllable switching mechanism to be driven thereby for movement between an operative position where the second contact is engageable with the first contact and an inoperative position where it is prohibited from being engaged with the first contact independently of the position of the first contact. Accordingly, the remotely controllable mechanism can be entirely isolated from the manually operable switching mechanism when the former is responsive to the remote control signal for bringing the second contact into its inoperative position.

    • A circuit breaker comprising two or more sections connected in parallel with each other. Each section of the circuit breaker comprises an electromagnetic sensing device and a pair of relatively movable contacts. The electromagnetic sensing devices are electrically connected at one of their ends to the load terminals. The load terminals are electrically connected in parallel with each other. The electromagnetic sensing devices are electrically connected at their other ends to each other and are electrically connected to all of the movable contacts which are themselves all electrically connected together. The stationary contacts are connected to line terminals which are also electrically connected in parallel with each other. Thus, the electromagnetic sensing devices are connected in parallel at both of their ends and the relatively movable contacts are also connected in parallel at both of their electrical ends while the electromagnetic sensing devices, on the one hand, and the movable contacts, on the other hand, are also in series with each other, whereby the current is divided equally among all of the electromagnetic sensing devices even though the current may not be equally divided among all of the relatively movable contacts, because of varying contact resistances.
