摘要： A method for monitoring health maintenance by collecting an initial blood sample from an individual and dividing the collected blood sample into at least two parts. The first of the two parts is immediately analyzed for multiple blood components levels, and the second part is frozen immediately after the collection to be used at a later time as a comparative standard. After a period of time, a second blood sample is collected from the same individual and analyzed for the same multiple blood components levels in a parallel test with the frozen part. The results obtained from the second blood sample are then compared to the results from the frozen comparative standard to detect real changes in the multiple blood components levels over time.

摘要： A method and apparatus for reconstruction of a region of interest for an object is provided. The reconstruction of the object may be based on chords which may fill a part, all, or more than all of the region of interest. Using chords for reconstruction may allow for reducing data acquired and/or processing for reconstructing a substantially exact image of the ROI. Moreover, various methodologies may be used in reconstructing the image, such as backprojection-filtration, and modified filtration backprojection.

摘要： A vessel for housing an organ such as lungs from a mammal ex-vivo, for evaluation or preservation. A liquid solution suitable for evaluation or preservation of the lungs surrounds the organ, at least partly. The solution is circulated via an outlet and an inlet. Two pressure chambers are arranged between the walls of the vessel and the organ. A gas is introducible to the pressure chamber in order to expand the pressure chamber for occupying the spaces surrounding the organ. Then, the pressure inside the pressure chambers is increased in order to push the solution to a higher level so that the organ is immersed in the solution without necessitating addition of further solution. Alternatively, the vessel is exposed to an under pressure and the pressure chambers are open to the atmosphere. In a further alternative embodiment, a solution collection space has variable volume.

摘要： A method and apparatus for reconstruction of a region of interest (ROI) for an object using an imaging system is provided. The imaging system may substantially exactly reconstruct the ROI with a straight line trajectory. In the straight line trajectory, the ROI is not bounded or encircled by the actual trajectory of the source (e.g., no chords that are composed from two points on the source trajectory intersect or fill the ROI to be imaged). However, the ROI may be substantially reconstructed by using “virtual” chords to reconstruct the ROI. The virtual chords are such that no point on the trajectory is included in the virtual chord (such as one that is parallel to the straight line trajectory). These virtual chords may intersect and fill the ROI, thus enabling substantially exact reconstruction. Further, in reconstructing the image, the straight line trajectory may be assumed to be infinite in length.

The handheld device captures information from a rendered document. The captured information is processed to identify an electronic document corresponding to the rendered document. Information captured from the rendered document by the handheld capture device is used to perform a transaction. In one embodiment, a portable scanner is used to select items from a catalog. Information scanned from the catalog is used to identify the catalog, the items to be purchased, and complete an order via the Internet.
