摘要： A transmission utilizes an electro-magnetically actuated selectable one-way-clutch. The one-way-clutch prevents rotation of a transmission member in both directions when a current exceeds a threshold and permits rotation in only one direction otherwise. To prevent un-intended engagement, a switch interrupts the current unless a second current exceeds a threshold. In order to engage the one-way-clutch, both currents are set above their respective thresholds by a controller. In the event of a single fault such as a short circuit, the system continues to function normally. The controller may periodically test for a fault by intentionally setting one current above its threshold and the other below its threshold and determining the state of the one-way-clutch by measuring speeds of transmission elements.

摘要： A coupling device system for use in a motor vehicle is provided including a coupling device and a memory chip. The coupling device has an input member, an output member, and at least one modulating clutch assembly selectively coupling the input member to the output member. The modulating clutch assembly includes an electrical clutch operator and clutch plates. The clutch plates include at least one first clutch plate coupled to the input member and at least one second clutch plate coupled to the output member. The second clutch plate is disposed adjacent the first clutch plate. The memory chip is integrated with the coupling device and is configured to store data related to a measured characteristic of the coupling device. The memory chip is also configured to communicate with a vehicle controller. A method of providing a calibration curve of the coupling device to the vehicle controller is also disclosed.

摘要： A clutch control device for vehicle equipped with a clutch actuator driven by a working fluid, wherein the rate of connection of the clutch is correctly controlled by using a simple means while compensating for secular changes in a flow rate control valve that controls the working fluid. To control the stroke of the clutch actuator 110, the clutch control device is provided with a single flow rate control valve 1 that controls the feed and discharge of the working fluid by using an electromagnetic solenoid. A flow rate control valve control device 9 is equipped with a learning device 91 that learns the neutral position of the flow rate control valve 1 to shut off the flow of the working fluid. At the time of learning, the learning device 91 renders the transmission to be neutral, executes the operation for increasing the stroke after the stroke is decreased, detects the rate of change in the stroke, and learns the central point at the neutral position. In controlling the stroke of the clutch, the amount of electric current to the coil 8 is adjusted based on the learned value to compensate for a change in the flow rate characteristics caused by secular change and the like.

摘要： A torque distribution control device for a four-wheel drive vehicle is disclosed having a torque distribution device for distributing the drive power transmitted from an engine to either of the front wheels or the rear wheels as prime drive wheels, to other wheels as sub-drive wheels. In the control device, a pre-torque is determined in a feed forward sense based on the vehicle speed, the throttle opening degree and the gear shift step of a transmission. A compensation torque is determined in a feedback sense based on the vehicle speed and the rotational speed difference between the drive wheels and the sub-drive wheels. A torque transmission clutch is controlled based on a command torque which is obtained by the addition of the pre-torque and th compensation torque, so that the command torque is distributed to the sub-drive wheels. In the control device of another embodiment, a pre-torque is determined in a feed forward sense based on the vehicle speed and the throttle opening degree. The pre-torque is compensated based on the throttle opening degree and the acceleration/deceleration of the vehicle. A feedback torque is determined in a feedback sense based on the rotational speed difference between the drive wheels and the sub-drive wheels and the vehicle speed. The pre-torque and the compensation torque are added for a command torque, and a torque transmission clutch is controlled based on the command torque to distribute the same to the sub-drive wheels.

摘要： A fluid pressure regulating valve, particularly for an automated clutch in the power train of a motor vehicle with a manually shiftable transmission, is adjustable by an electronic control unit which regulates the strength of alternating current being supplied to one or more electromagnets of the valve. The control unit receives signals from sensors which monitor the fluid pressure, the temperature and/or the RPM of one or more constituents of the motor vehicle, and such signals are processed into signals denoting differences between existing and desired pressures of fluid being supplied to and/or by the valve. These signals are compared with information stored in at least one memory of the control unit and denoting memorized differences between actual and desired current strengths. The memorized signals are altered when a comparison in the control unit indicates that the differences ascertained on the basis of signals transmitted by the sensors depart from differences denoted by the memorized information. Such processing of memorized information renders it possible to counteract the effects of wear upon and/or tolerances in assembly of parts of the power train.

摘要： A transmission for use in the power train of a motor vehicle has a rotary first component (such as a shaft), a second component which may but need not be rotatable, a fluid-conveying conduit having a first end portion extending into a first socket provided in the first component and a second end portion extending into a socket of the second component, a split-ring piston packing located in an external groove of the first end portion, and an O-ring received in an external groove of the second end portion. The O-ring prevents the conduit and the second component from rotating relative to each other. A passage which is defined by the two components and the conduit can receive a stream of pressurized hydraulic fluid from a pump by way of pipes wherein the flow of fluid is controlled by several valves including a manually operated slide valve, at least one preferably adjustable pressure regulating valve, at least one preferably adjustable safety valve, and adjusting means for the adjustable valve or valves; such adjusting means can employ one or more signal-responsive control valves.
