摘要： A data storage device is disclosed comprising a storage medium. Input data is encoded according to at least one channel code constraint to generate first data and second data. The first data is encoded into a first codeword, and the second data is encoded into a second codeword, wherein a first code rate of the first codeword is less than a second code rate of the second codeword. The first codeword and the second codeword are interleaved to generate an interleaved codeword, and the interleaved codeword is written to the storage medium.

摘要： A method includes: receiving a to-be-decoded symbol sequence, where the to-be-decoded symbol sequence includes N symbols; dividing the received to-be-decoded symbol sequence into a first symbol sequence and a second symbol sequence; calculating first distances between the first symbol sequence and each of corresponding 2K ideal superimposed symbol sequences, and obtaining paths corresponding to relatively small distances based on the first distances; sequentially performing sequence detection on each symbol in the second symbol sequence based on the paths corresponding to the 2k-1 relatively small distances, calculating second distances between each symbol in the second symbol sequence and each ideal symbol sequence, and after the sequence detection is performed on a last symbol, obtaining an ideal symbol sequence corresponding to a minimum distance based on the second distances; and using the ideal symbol sequence corresponding to the minimum distance as an output symbol sequence.

One example of a data processing apparatus includes a mapping unit configured to generate a second bit sequence by mapping a first bit sequence to any symbol on a complex plane corresponding to a NUC modulation method, an inter-symbol interleaving unit configured to generate a third bit sequence by performing inter-symbol interleaving to the second bit sequence, an intra-symbol interleaving unit configured to generate a fourth bit sequence by performing intra-symbol interleaving for shifting M bits as a whole of the third bit sequence per a same number of M bits as the bit number M representing the symbol, and a modulation unit configured to wirelessly transmit the fourth bit sequence according to the NUC modulation method.

摘要： A broadcast receiving system capable of receiving mobile broadcast data and a method for processing broadcast signals are disclosed. The broadcast receiving system includes N number of antenna elements, a demodulator, a transmission parameter detector, and a block decoder. The N number of antenna elements receives each of the broadcast signals. The demodulator demodulates the broadcast signal having greater signal strength among each of the received broadcast signals. The transmission parameter detector detects the transmission parameter. The block decoder symbol-decodes the mobile broadcast service data included in the received broadcast signal in block units, based upon the detected transmission parameter.

摘要： At a receiver side, to enhance the performance of concatenated LDPC and TCM coding, an iterative decoding between TCM decoder and LDPC decoder enables improvement in the reliability of received LLRs of each symbol after each iteration. A SOVA output of the TCM is used for LDPC decoding, and then the updated LLRs from LDPC decoder are further looped back to the TCM decoder for the next iteration. In such a manner, the decoding performance could be significantly improved after just several iterations.
