    • Motor vehicle door lock comprising: a latch (1); a pawl (3) which can adopt an "escapement" position; an operating member which, on the one hand, can adopt either an active position in which it acts, during its actuating movement, on the pawl to place it in the "escapement" position, or an inhibited position in which it has no effect on the pawl and, on the other hand, may experience an actuating movement in response to actuation of the door handle; and an electric device (15-24) which responds at least to an unlock signal by moving the operating member from its inhibited position as far as its active position, characterized in that the operating member consists of a set of two links (7, 11) articulated together by a hinge joint (10), of which one (11) of the links comprises a thrust surface (11a) which is positioned in such a way that, in the active position, the thrust surface comes up against and carries along a peg (25) on the pawl (3), during the actuating movement, until the said pawl has been placed in the "escapement" position, and that in the inhibited position, the thrust surface at most comes into contact with the said peg, during the actuating movement so that the operating member has no action on the pawl, and of which the other link (7) is articulated to an opening lever (5), the electric device comprising a lock/unlock lever (15) co-operating with the hinge joint (10) to make it pivot about the articulation (8).

    • A locking mechanism for a safe container of valuable or dangerous items has an engagement element movable from a disengaged position to an engageable position thereof solely upon receipt of a controlled small predetermined amount of electrical power. When the engagement element is thus put in its engageable position, a manually operated element engages therewith and, under the influence of a further manual force input by a user, manually moves the engagement element to forcibly drive a lock-bolt from a locking position to an unlocking position thereof. In one aspect of the invention, the engagement element is connected to the rotor of a low power, low-friction electric motor having at least two magnetic detents, respectively corresponding to the disengaged and engageable positions. In another aspect of the invention, the required electrical power is generated solely during the course of the user inputting a predetermined combination code input, and a microprocessor controls storage and delivery of this stored electrical power to the engagement element to put it into its engageable position. Once the desired engagement is obtained, following the provision of the small amount of electrical power to the engagement element, the actual physical movement of a lock bolt of the locking mechanism from its locking to its unlocking position is obtained strictly manually. Once the lock is manually placed in its nulllockingnull mode, a subsequent unlocking thereof requires the provision of a correct and complete combination code input. Additional security elements may be provided to work in cooperation with the disclosed invention for enhanced security against attempts at unauthorized unlocking by imposition of magnetic fields.

    • A door lock able to be unlocked by a key or a remote controller, has a body and a bolt provided inside the body. The bolt has a recess defined therein, and a tooth formed at a bottom side of a first end thereof. Two upper sheets and two lower sheets are respectively provided in an upper portion and a lower portion of the recess. Four links are pivotally connected end to end by four pivot pins to form a rhombic structure and respectively provided between the upper sheets and between the lower sheets. Two torsion springs are provided between the sheets and respectively mounted on two transversal pivot pins and pushing against two longitudinal pivot pins. An upper cam is mounted at an upper side of the bolt. A lower cam is mounted at a lower side of the bolt. The upper cam and the lower cam each have two tongues for pushing the upper sheets and the lower sheets inwards, and pushing the bolt to transversally move. A longitudinal pivot pin which is inserted through the upper sheets, extends out from the V-like slot and is movable along the V-like slot when the upper sheets, the lower sheets and the rhombic links are pressed by the upper cam or the lower cam. The lower cam can be stopped by the tooth when it is anticlockwise rotated over, and will not block the bolt. Thus, a user still can unlock the bolt by a key.
