    • An information processing apparatus sets each folder managed in a first document management system as a registration target folder, and determines whether a depth of the registration target folder is equal to or less than a limit value of a depth of folder hierarchy. If the depth of the target folder is determined to be equal to or less than the limit value of the depth, the apparatus registers the registration target folder at a position, in a folder hierarchy managed by a second document management system, which corresponds to a position in a folder hierarchy managed by the first system. If the depth of the target folder is determined to exceed the limit value of the depth, the apparatus registers the registration target folder in a shallow layer having a depth smaller than the limit value of the depth in the folder hierarchy managed by the second system.

    • This invention has as its object to easily verify alterations etc. of files stored in a folder. To achieve this object, an information processing method of this invention is a method of applying hash processing to files stored in a folder, which includes a designation step of designating a folder; a first generation step (steps S601 and S602) of generating hash data for each of files included in the folder designated in the designation step; a second generation step (steps S603 to S609) of generating one multiplexed hash data by repeating multiplexing each of the hash data generated in the first generation step in turn according to a predetermined order; and a step (step S610) of storing the multiplexed hash data in association with the folder designated in the designation step.

    • An image filing apparatus includes a reading unit for reading an image of a mark sheet. The mark sheet has a plurality of index areas on each of which an index image representing index information for retrieving an image stored in a storage medium is to be printed, a plurality of check areas on each of which a check for assigning the corresponding one of the plurality of index areas is to be entered, and a drawing area for drawing an index image to be newly registered, and for outputting an image signal. The apparatus also includes a detector for detecting which check area has been checked based on the image signal from the reading unit, a registration unit for registering, in the index area corresponding to the check area detected by the detector the index image drawn in the drawing area, and a provision unit for providing the index image drawn in the drawing area as index information of an original to be read by the reading unit after the mark sheet.
