摘要： In a method for generating a data unit conforming to a first communication protocol, a first field and a second field to be included in a preamble of the data unit are generated. The first field includes a first set of one or more information bits that indicate a duration of the data unit and is formatted such that the first field allows a receiver device that conforms to a second communication protocol to determine the duration of the data unit. The second field includes a second set of one or more information bits that indicate to a receiver device that conforms to the first communication protocol that the data unit conforms to the first communication protocol. The first field and the second field are modulated using a modulation scheme specified for a field corresponding to the first field and the second field, respectively, by the second communication protocol.

The apparatus for receiving broadcast signals, the apparatus comprises a receiver to receive the broadcast signals, a demodulator to demodulate the received broadcast signals by an OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex) scheme, a frame parser to parse at least one signal frame from the demodulated broadcast signals, wherein a signal frame includes service data corresponding to each of a plurality of physical paths, a time deinterleaver to time deinterleave service data in the at least one signal frame, a decoder to decode the time deinterleaved service data.

摘要： In a communication system, a transmitter receives an input bit, and in response thereto, generates at least an n-bit codeword, each bit of which is generated by a respective one of n generators of which m are exactly the same, m being greater than n/2. A receiver comprises: m detectors, each adapted to receive the bit generated by a respective one of the m generators, and provide a respective one of m partial detection signals if a strength of the received bit exceeds a predetermined minimum threshold; and a majority logic element adapted to receive each of the m partial detection signals, and provide an output bit indicative of the input bit only if more than m/2 of the received m partial detection signals exceeds the minimum threshold.

The LDPC code employed in accordance with such LDPC encoding may have a partial-tree like structure. In addition, appropriate manipulation of the bits assigned to respective sub-carriers may be performed to ensure that the bits emplaced in the MSB (Most Significant Bit) location of various symbols has some desired diversity (e.g., from different codewords, from appropriately different locations within a given codeword, etc.).

摘要： System performance in wireless communication is improved by increasing diversity in time, space and frequency. Information to be transmitted is processed by a convolution encoder to produce encoded bits. The encoded bits are interleaved and mapped to subcarriers. Symbols are created from the subcarriers and the symbols are transmitted so as to increase diversity in time, space and frequency. Circulation transmission in addition to interleaving is used to increase diversity. For example, circulation transmission can be symbol based or subcarrier based.

摘要： Disclosed herein is a method and system for interleaving and deinterleaving of data bits in wireless data communications. Interleaving is performed as a single stage parallel operation using a single standard memory block. The disclosed method and system is capable of implementing different interleaving techniques, individually, or as a combination thereof. The disclosed system comprises a plurality of multiplexers, a standard memory block, read and write buses, control block, and a lookup table. The contents of the lookup table are generated based on an interleaving function. The data bits from the input bus and bits from the read bus of the memory are inputted to the plurality of multiplexers. Based on the lookup table's contents the multiplexers are switched to parallelly permute the input data bits and read bits from the read bus. The permuted data bits are in an interleaved sequence.
