81 Passive seat belt system for an automotive vehicle with tilting seats EP82105301.4 1982-06-16 EP0068322A1 1983-01-05 Miki, Hiroyuki; Matsuoka, Hideoki

The system includes a mechanical linkage (11) between the seat back (19) and a guide member (13) which holds the belt (1) in an appropriate operating position. The linkage (11) serves to move the guide member (13) forward as the seat back (19) is tilted forward, to move the guide member (13) to its normal working position when the seat back (19) is moved to its normal upright position, and to hold the guide member (13) in its working position as the seat back (19) is tilted backwards. The mechanical linkage (11) includes a linkage lever (25), of which one end is pivotably attached to the seat back (19) and the other end constitutes a contoured iost-motion linkage engaging the pivotable guide member (13). The iost-motion linkage is designed to actuate movement of the guide member (13) when the seat back (19) moves within the forward moiety of its reclining range, and to be only slackly engaged with the guide member (13) when the seat back (19) is moved in the portion of its reclining range rearward of its normal upright position. A stop holds the guide member (13) in its working position in the latter case.

82 FLEXIBLE RECLINING CHAIR PCT/US2005015898 2005-05-06 WO2005107529A3 2009-04-16 PERRY MARCO C; PERRY CHARLES O
A flexible chair that includes a seat member with seat bottom and back rest portions, first and second pairs of legs, and a plurality of cross members. The pair of first legs are pivotly connected to rearward positions of the seat bottom portion and extend downwardly and forwardly from the seat bottom portion. The pair of second legs are pivotly connected to forward positions of the seat bottom portion and extend downwardly and rearwardly from the seat bottom portion, such that the first legs cross the second legs. The plurality of cross members connect the first and second legs together such that the seat member is rearwardly reclinable against a resilient force provided by at least one of the first pair of legs, the second pair of legs and the plurality of cross members.
83 PIVOTING SEAT BELT UPPER ANCHOR POINT ATTACHMENT PCT/US0020072 2000-07-24 WO0168417A9 2002-02-21 ROMEO DAVID JOSEPH
A three-point passenger restraint system for a passenger seat including a lap belt (101) having a first end connected to a lap belt retractor and a second end. A torso belt (102) having a first end connected to the second end of the lap belt and a second end. The second end of the torso belt is attached to an anchor arm (140) that is pivotally mounted to a passenger seat or vehicle side structure, wherein the anchor arm (140) is rotationally biased to remove slack in the torso belt (102). The anchor arm (140) rotates and thus functions (i) as the upper height adjusting anchor point for the three-point restraining system and (ii) to adjust belt length to comfortably accomodate passenger sizes in the range of a 5th percentile female to a 95th percentile male.
84 RESTRAINT SYSTEM IN VEHICLES, TRAINS AND AIRCRAFT FOR INCREASING PASSENGER SAFETY PCT/DE9803270 1998-11-10 WO9924294A3 1999-07-22 GO GIOK DJIEN
In spite of the constant improvement of common prior art restraint systems, the number of serious/fatal injuries due to yaw acceleration, forward acceleration, submarining and overstress as in problem cases G1 to G5 has recently increased. The invention offers a much more useful and safe protection of infants, children or adults in any real accident of a vehicle, train or aircraft, or during aircraft instability due to turbulences. Both diagonal belts (1.1, 1.2) cross after the lock tongue (2) is manually or mechanically inserted into the belt lock (4) and the lock tongue (9) is locked into the belt lock (9.1), forming an X-shaped restraint system of upper torso (95) and restraint system of lower torso (96). Both parts of the lap belt (1.3R, 1.3L) cross after the lock tongue (11) is inserted into the belt lock (8) for retaining both thighs. The seat (3) and an integral safety belt (1) are integrated in a single unit. For greater ease of operation and faster passenger rescue, pressing a general release button (84) of the belt lock (9.1) releases all lock tongues from all belt locks.

96 INTEGRATED WIRING FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE SEAT RESTRAINT SYSTEM PCT/US2016/062181 2016-11-16 WO2017087459A1 2017-05-26 ORTIZ, Jean Paul; PAULSON, Kyle M.; DAVIS, P. Jason

97 VEHICULAR ANGLE ALERT AND SAFETY SYSTEM AND METHOD PCT/US2016/047795 2016-08-19 WO2017031435A1 2017-02-23 GARCIA, Ray

The invention consists of various embodiments of a system that uses electromechanical means to alert a vehicle operator of an imminent vehicle roll-over and protect the operator in a roll-over event. The system uses an electronics control unit (ECU) that is able to detect the deflection angle of the vehicle's tilt with the horizontal. If this angle exceeds a certain amount, the operator is alerted of the increased risk of roll-over via haptic feedback whereby the ECU controls a seatbelt electromechanical system to create a haptic feedback alert to the operator. If the angle exceeds a second higher amount, the system braces the operator for a roll-over event by tightening the seatbelt, thereby better protecting the operator. The fact that the system is electromechanical, instead of pyrotechnical, makes the system reusable.

98 APPARATUS FOR AUTOMATICALLY LOCKING AND UNLOCKING A VEHICLE SEAT BELT PCT/KR2011001732 2011-03-11 WO2011112047A3 2012-02-23 YU HYOUK; JUNG TAE-JIN; AN SEONG-CHEOL; LEE CHANG-MIN
