    • PURPOSE:To obtain a high traction effect by providing an intake air flow rate changing means in an engine in which two throttle valves are disposed in series in an intake passage, and controlling this means in accordance with an opening degree of one of the throttle valves which is associated with the operation of an accelerator pedal. CONSTITUTION:In an engine incorporating an intake device in which a first throttle valve 17 opened and closed in association with the operation of an accelerator pedal 6 and a second throttle valve 13 opened and closed independent from the first throttle valve 17 are disposed in series in an intake passage 9, a bypass passage 20 bypassing the first throttle valve 17 (or the second throttle valve 13) is provided, and an intake air flow rate changing means 20 for changing the flow rate of intake air, in the passage 20. A control means 43 controls the changing means 21 in accordance with an output from a throttle opening degree detecting means 34 for detecting an opening degree of the first throttle valve 17. Thereby it is possible to compensate the flow rate of intake air for an insufficiency thereof even though interference of the intake air flow rate is present when the opening degrees of the throttle valves are small.

    • PURPOSE:To preclude misrecognition in a fault diagnosis under the inhibition state of an actuator by providing a detecting means for the control inhibition state of electronic control systems by a control unit and a means which indicates the detection result on a tester side. CONSTITUTION:This device is equipped with the control inhibition state detecting means for the on-vehicle electronic control systems 61 - 6X by the control unit ECU 2 and the means which indicates the detection result on the side of the tester 1. Then when the control inhibition state of actuators 61 - 6X is stored on a memory 20 and an operation/stop control command is sent out, it is retrieved and confirmed whether the command is ON or not. Judging means 10 or/and 21 judge whether the control is inhibited or not from the detection result of a sensor 5. When a test signal 11 is sent to the ECU, the memory 20 is retrieved and when the control is inhibited, the signal is sent back to the tester 1. When the control is not inhibited, on the other hand, the actuators are operated and controlled. Consequently, the control inhibition state of the actuators are also detected and it is decided whether a control disabled state is caused by the fault of the control system side or the control inhibition state, thereby precluding the misrecognition.

    • PURPOSE:To secure safety without giving an influence to the ordinary operation by putting an output adjusting device to the state having the min. engine output is realized, by an electric circuit independently of a control means, when an accelerator is put into inoperative state. CONSTITUTION:When the first and/or second brake switch 74 or 75 is turned-ON by the stepping-ON of a brake pedal, the voltage higher than a ground voltage is applied onto the base of a semiconductor switch 71, in a motor control circuit 70. When feet is separated from an accelerating pedal 5 and an accelerator perfect closing switch 72 is turned-ON in this state, no electric current flows in the motor 49 of an electric control mechanism 60, and a throttle valve 6 is compulsorily set into a perfect closed state by a spring 45. In this control disabled state or anomaly, the perfect closed state is generated compulsorily by the operation of a driver, and when the engine revolution speed lowers, a control unit 18 turns OFF an electromagnetic clutch 50, and switching to a mechanical control mechanism 61 is performed. Therefore, safety can be secured without giving an influence to the ordinary operation.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the extent of responsiveness to control over a desired engine speed by making an arithmetic process for controlling an idling speed so as to be performed with a shorter setting cycle than the normal one at a transition period of load increase sor a while till the setting time elapses since the external load of an engine has started its operation. CONSTITUTION:In a device which regulates an idling speed after controlling a duty solenoid valve 11 in a bypass passage 10 installed so s to bypass a throttle valve 7 in an intake passage 5 by a speed regulating means 27, there is provided with a first operational means 25 which performs an arithmetic process for controlling the idling speed at each setting cycle. In addition, there is provided with a second operational means 26 which performs the arithmetic process for controlling the idling speed at a relatively setting cycle at an interval of setting time from starting the operation when an operating state of external load being imposed on an engine is detected. With this constitution, at this interval of the setting time since the external load has started its operation, the speed regulating means 27 is controlled by output of the second operational means 26, but at time of other cases, this regulating means 27 is controlled on the basis of output of the first operational means 25.

    • PURPOSE:To restrict the overshoot amount of the supercharge pressure within an allowable range and suppress torque variation effectively by resuming feedback control of the supercharge pressure so that the overshoot amount of supercharge pressure lies within the allowable range. CONSTITUTION:A controller 30 prohibits the feedback control of supercharge pressure when it is sensed that the engine 1 is in accelerating from the degree of opening of a throttle valve and its rate of change, and adds the acceleration correcting value to the fundamental duty ratio of a duty solenoid valve 21. The acceleration correcting value is decreased gradually when the actual supercharge pressure sensed by a neg. pressure sensor 27 attains a value lower by a set value alpha than the target supercharge pressure, and the feedback control of the supercharge pressure is resumed. Therein update and correction is made so that the set value alpha enlarges when the cumulated value of the overshoot amount of the actual supercharge pressure goes out of specified allowable range. Thereby the actual supercharge pressure for resuming the feedback control of the supercharge pressure becomes low point of time correspondingly, so that the overshoot amount will lie within the specified allowable range.

    • PURPOSE:To evade the emergency state of a side to be diagnosed which is generated by a diagnostic command and to protect the side to be diagnosed by providing a detecting means for a variation quantity varying through the operation of an on-vehicle electronic control system and a canceling means for control system. CONSTITUTION:The trouble diagnostic device is constituted by connecting a tester 1 which sends a test signal for diagnosing the trouble of the on-vehicle electronic control system 6 to a control unit (engine control unit 2). This device is equipped with the detecting means 5 which detects the variation quantity (e.g. exhaust air temperature) varying through the operation of the on-vehicle electronic control system 6 (injector 60 and igniter 61) and the canceling means which cancels the operation of the on-vehicle electronic control system 6 based upon the test signal when the variation quantity exceeds a permissible value. Then the detecting means 5 is realized by using a catasensor 50. Further, the canceling means is realized by the software program of a computer constituting the tester 1 or control unit 2.
