    • A game board assembly includes a table that has a top surface and a perimeter edge. The top surface has a center area defining a highest point of the top surface. The top surface slopes downwardly in all directions continuously from the center area to the perimeter edge. A perimeter wall is attached to and extends upwardly from the perimeter edge. The perimeter edge and the perimeter wall have a plurality of notches therein. Openings are defined in the perimeter wall each associated with one of the notches. A plurality of mounts is attached to the table. Each of the openings has one of the mounts positioned adjacent thereto. Each of the mounts has one of a plurality of paddles attached thereto. Each of the paddles includes a grip to facilitate rotating the paddles. A ball is positioned on the table and is strikable with the paddles.

    • An adapter includes an integrally-molded metal housing defining a first port axially aligned with a second port, each adapted to receive an optical connector plug having a cylindrical ferrule. A junction portion defines a cylindrical axial passage between the ports and has a first end adjacent the first port and a second end adjacent the second port. The first end of the junction portion has a ridge portion extending inwardly, thereby restricting a diameter of the passage at the first end. An alignment sleeve is disposed in the passage, the alignment sleeve having a diameter suitable for receiving a ferrule of each optical connector plug and axially aligning the ferrules to effect optical coupling of fibers contained in the ferrules. An end cap is disposed at the second end and is engaged with the junction portion to restrict the diameter of the passage at the second end, thereby securing the sleeve in the passage.

    • A secure end-to-end communications system provides end users access to vault-based custom applications of an organization for purposes of conducting electronic commerce. The system includes a web-based vault controller running an application, e.g. a registrations application in a vault cryptographically linked to a database and a Certificate Management System (CMS) for generating digital certificates, and at least one remote vault agent coupled to the vault controller for providing vault-based custom applications to end users. An X.500 directory is coupled to the CMS and cryptographically linked to the remote vault agents for storing end user data. The remote vault agent is an application which comprises a collection of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) which provide a secure interface to the vault controller; a Lightweight Data Access Protocol (LDAP) used to access the X.500 directory; a secure depositor coupled to vault-based custom applications of an organization. The secure depositor includes APIs to perform cryptographic functions in passing communications between vaults used by the vault agent and vaults used by the vault controller or vaults used by other vault agent applications and a secure depositor library which uses functions in the LDAP to access the X.500 directory. The remote vault agent accesses the web based vault controller on a non-web basis to enable remote custom applications to communicate securely with vault-based applications, such as a registration application that administers digital certificates.
