    • A viscous fluid coupling device includes: a plate that divides a housing into a reservoir chamber and an operation chamber; communication holes that are provided in the plate and communicate the reservoir chamber and the operation chamber; a rotor that is disposed inside the operation chamber and fixed to one end of a drive shaft and rotates integrally with the drive shaft; a valve that is disposed in the reservoir chamber and opens and closes the communication holes, a rod that is fixed at one end to the valve and fixed at the other end to the inner circumferential side of a vortical bimetal and rotatably supported on the housing; a bimetal holder that fixes an attaching outer end formed by bending the outer circumferential side of the bimetal; and a vibration isolator that is disposed between the bimetal holder and the bimetal.

    • A pump incorporates a housing with a pump chamber and an internal bore communicating with the pump chamber, and a power driven impeller shaft supported in the housing by at least one bearing in the internal bore. The impeller shaft has an impeller in the pump chamber. A seal mechanism is in the internal bore between the bearing and the pump chamber providing a seal between the impeller shaft and the wall surface of the internal bore. The internal bore has a stepped configuration with small and large diameter portions and a vertical wall defined therebetween. The large diameter portion defines an intermediate chamber between the bearing and the pump chamber and that chamber connects with the pump chamber. The intermediate chamber contains liquid with air being trapped in the remaining portion of the intermediate chamber. The bearing and the seal mechanism are located in the small diameter portion. A partition wall member in the intermediate chamber divides the chamber into a first compartment adjacent the pump chamber and a second compartment adjacent the seal mechanism. The first and second compartments are connected at the upper and radially outer peripheral portion of the intermediate chamber. A device provided on the impeller shaft forces the liquid in the second compartment when the impeller shaft rotates, so as to displace into the first compartment, while the air concentrates in the second compartment around the impeller shaft, thereby excluding liquid from the sealing mechanism.

    • An oil pressure control apparatus includes a control valve mechanism being in communication with a pump via a first fluid passage and being in communication with a control apparatus via a second fluid passage, a third fluid passage diverging from the first fluid passage to supply oil to a predetermined portion other than the control apparatus, and a fluid passage dimension regulating mechanism including a movable member provided at the third fluid passage and including an opening for regulating a fluid passage dimension of the third fluid passage. The fluid passage dimension regulating mechanism is in communication with a fourth fluid passage diverging from the second fluid passage and biases the movable member to a side increasing the fluid passage dimension by applying the hydraulic pressure of the fourth fluid passage to the movable member separately from the hydraulic pressure of the third fluid passage.
