    • PURPOSE:To maintain the satisfactory emission performance of an engine, by providing such an arrangement that upon detection of an engine rotational speed which is lowered below a set rotational speed near the idling rotational speed, the amount of fuel is increased until a predetermined time period elapses from the time point of the lowering of the engine rotational speed. CONSTITUTION:When the temperature of intake-air is low during running of the engine, a bimetal type shut-off valve 19 is closed to introduce the vacuum of intake-air downstream of a throttle valve 6 into a vacuum chamber 16 in a vacuum switch 11 through a passage 18, and therefore, a switch section 14 is turned on. In addition to this condition, if a choke switch 26, a water temperature switch 27 which is turned on when the temperature of cooling water is below a predetermined value, an engine stop detector 28 and a cooler switch 29 are all turned off, but if a neutral switch 30 is turned on, a transistor 12 is turned on when an engine rotational speed detecting circuit 21 detects the engine rotational speed which has been lowered below a set rotational speed near the idling rotational speed. Accordingly, a richer valve 10 is opened for a set time by a timer 22 to aim at increasing the amount of fuel.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain an intake system being compact and having a good intake efficiency by combining stream at the upstream ends of respective independent intake passages of a cylinder group so as to be opposite to each other after extending toward the same direction in the same plane, and providing rotary valves for communication at the confluent parts respectively. CONSTITUTION:All of the first independent intake passage 10 and the second independent intake passage 12 for respective cylinders are arranged so as to extend toward the same direction in the same plane, and the streams in respective intake passages 10, 12 are combined so as to be opposite to each other, and at the confluent parts the first control valve 19 and the second control valve 20 as rotary valves are provided. From the confluent parts, the first upstream intake passage 22 and the second upstream intake passage 24, respective intake passages of which are independent each other, are provided, and they are combined into one passage on the upstream side of throttle valves 17a through 17c. When the engine is in a low or intermediate speed and low or intermediate load, the first and the second control valves 19, 20 are closed to form long intake passages respectively. when the engine is in a high speed and high load, respective valves 19, 20 are opened to shorten the substantial pipe length.

    • PURPOSE:To make a proper shift-up indication attainable all the time, by comparing the setting value, to be made larger as the air density is lower, with the actual value of an engine speed and, when the actual value is larger than the setting value, letting a device perform the shift-up indication. CONSTITUTION:A device bearing the above caption compares the speed detection value by an engine speed detecting device 1 with a speed setting value by a setting value generating device 2 by a comparing device 3. And, when the speed detection value is larger than the setting value, it outputs a signal, making a shift-up indicating device 4 of a lamp or a buzzer or the like perform a shift-up indication, from this comparing device 3. In this case, there is provided with an air density detecting device 5 which detects a degree of suction air density, and it is constituted so as to make the setting value to be generated at the generating device 2 larger the lower as the air density detection value is lower. With this constitution, a proper shift-up indication is made so as to be giveable all the time even at the time of driving on highland or the like.

    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to simply and surely detect a failure in an exhaust gas circulating system, by discriminating deviations of compensating values for the control of air-fuel ratio in both of a condition which requires exhaust gas recirculation and a condition which does not require exhaust gas recirculation. CONSTITUTION:In a first operating condition, a feed-back control means 17 carries out the feed-back control of air-fuel ratio of mixture to a predetermined value. Further, in a substantially steady state operating condition, an operating condition detecting means 20 delivers a signal while an exhaust gas recirculation signal detecting means 19 does not delivers a signal, and a first compensating value detecting means 21 detects the compensating value of the means 17. Further, when the operation is shifted into a second operating condition which required exhaust gas recirculation, both means 19, 20 deliver signals, and a second compensating value detecting means detects the compensating value of the means 17. Further, a first deviation detecting means 23 detects the deviation between both compensating values, and when a second deviation detecting means 24 detects the deviation which does not coincide with a set value, an abnormal signal generating means 25 is energized.

    • PURPOSE:To sufficiently secure a quantity of fuel to be discharged into an engine, by providing a voltage control means for variably controlling a voltage to be applied to a motor for driving a fuel pump according to a battery voltage condition to be detected by a voltage condition detecting means. CONSTITUTION:A voltage condition of a battery 5 is detected by a control unit 11, and when the voltage condition is lower than a predetermined value, the control unit 11 sets a predetermined value Qa=alpha for a suction air quantity Q, and decides the value of the suction air quantity Q, thus controlling opening and closing of a break contact 8b of a relay switch 8. On the other hand, when the voltage condition of the battery 5 is higher than the predetermined value, the control unit 11 sets a predetermined value Qa=beta for the suction air quantity, and decides the value of the suction air quantity Q, thus controlling opening and closing of the break contact 8b of the relay switch 8. Accordingly, even when the voltage condition of the battery is low, a voltage to be applied to a motor 2 for driving a fuel pump 1 may be secured, and thereby a sufficient quantity of fuel to be discharged into an engine may be secured.
