    • The present invention discloses a contact module for circuit breaker. The contact module comprises: a base, a cover, an operation mechanism, three kinds of single-pole switches and a release mechanism. The cover is mounted on the base to form an accommodation space, the operation mechanism, the three kinds of single-pole switches and the release mechanism are disposed in the accommodation space. The operation mechanism is connected to one kind of the single-pole switch, the release mechanism is connected to the three kinds of the single-pole switches. All of the three kinds of single-pole switches are asymmetrical. Each kind of single-pole switch comprises a strong side and a weak side, for each kind of single-pole switch, a contact housing on the strong side is thick and is connected to a thick shaft, a contact housing on the weak side is thin and is connected to a thin shaft. A rotor component in each kind of single-pole switch only has a single contact spring and the single contact spring is mounted on the weak side. Rotation shafts of adjacent single-pole switches are connected by a linkage shaft so that the single-pole switches are connected, a strong side of one single-pole switch is connected to a weak side of another single-pole switch.

    • A gas-blast switch has a housing which encloses an arcing chamber, an accumulator space and an expansion space. Two relatively moveable contact members are arranged in the housing. One of the contact members moves through a nozzle. The nozzle is formed of and defined by two moveable nozzle parts, the relative position of which determines the size of a discharge cross-section in the nozzle. During a switching-off operation, the moveable contact member moves out of the arcing chamber and quenching gas flows from the accumulator space into the expansion space, through the arcing chamber, i.e. the nozzle. The size of discharge cross-section of the nozzle varies through movement of the nozzle parts which respond to pressure created in the switch, without the assistance of elaborate compression springs. To this end, the nozzle parts are freely mounted to move in response to pressures generated in the switch and they are disposed in the gas path between the arcing chamber and the accumulator space.

    • A disconnect switch and grounding apparatus therefor particularly adapted for use in gas insulated substations. The disconnect switch comprises a chamber having a pair of electrical conductors entering the chamber. Supporting the conductors and insulating them from contact with the chamber itself are insulators, which may be sealingly placed so as to prohibit the escape of the gas. A fixed contact member electrically attached to the first of the pair of conductors and a movable contact member is electrically attached to the second pair of conductors. A movement mechanism to move the movable contact members so as to make and break contact with the fixed contact member. A grounding strip electrically attached to the movable contact member, positioned so as to come in contact with the chamber wall immediately after the breaking of contact between the fixed and the movable contact members. The movement mechanism comprises a linkage having two links, the first link attached at one end to the movable contact member and the other end connected to the second link, the other end of the second link being connected to a shaft member. The shaft member sealingly extends through the wall of the chamber having attached to it on the outside of the chamber a handle for causing the shaft to rotate. The shaft upon rotation engages the linkage causing the movable contact member to make or break contact with the fixed contact member and respectively the ground strip to move away from or come in contact with the wall of the chamber.
